If Queen Elizabeth Were a Cowgirl...

9/6/2023

Hello Lee,

September 8 marks the one year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's passing. One thing I believe we can all agree on is that Queen Elizabeth II was an icon. She was the longest-reigning monarch in England's history and by all accounts, she was a force to be reckoned with yet she led with grace and a quiet dignity.

It only makes sense, then, that David would want to paint such a woman!

Modeled after a photographic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, David painted The Queen as if she were a cowgirl, because, as he titled the piece, "There's a Little Cowgirl in Every English." I remember him remarking to me at the time he was painting this piece how fun it was to paint all the diamonds! David did love sparkle...

For the first time, we are releasing the only original painting David made of the Queen in honor of her passing. This painting is 12" wide by 16" tall, and we are offering it for $995.00 (plus tax where appropriate and shipping). David signed and titled the back of the canvas, adding to this special portrait. See it on our website under "New Releases" and contact Sue Roderick to order. She'd make a lovely addition to any space, adding a touch of distinguished glamour to your wall!

Including the portrait of the Queen, we only have 24 remaining original paintings of David's work. These pieces span a wide range of sizes and subjects, and if you're in the Santa Fe area, you are welcome to schedule an appointment with Sue Roderick (sueabelr@gmail.com) to come by and view them. As they are so limited and valuable, if you are in the market for original artwork, now is the time see if any of these paintings might be exactly what you've been searching for to decorate your home, office, or business.
